Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the compliment about the show.
To edit them I actually use GarageBand on my Mac. Audacity is nice, but seems like it crashes more frequently for me on longer editing jobs.
As I’ve posted on FetLife and in the chat channel we’ve been using, the live stream is a new experiment for us. The tool that I bought for that is Nicecast. We learned last night that the default configuration maxes out at 8 streams. I can probably up that, but I’m sure there’s a practical limit since ultimately people are connecting to stream via my residential cable connection and the upstream bandwidth is considerable less than down.
One thing it does allow us to do is stream to another server, which I think will then stream the show. There are two options provided by the program Live365 and Shoutcast. I know Live365 has a significant cost for both broadcasters and listeners. It seems impractical for our needs right now as a free podcast. I’ll have to research the requirements of Shoutcast. We also have to consider whether or not the terms of service allow an adult broadcast from their servers.
Hopefully we’ll learn a little more and get a little better with each show. Hey we’ve been doing a weekly show for 5 months now and we’re still here. I’m pretty proud of that.
Thanks again and
